UM, STORYTELLING STUDENTS CHOOSE A SHORT STORY OR A CHILDREN'S STORY AND THEN RETELL IT.
UM, SO OUR STUDENT, LANDON NELSON, WHO IS ALSO NOT ABLE TO BE HERE TONIGHT BECAUSE HE IS CURRENTLY A LEAD IN THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL AND THEY HAVE TECH WEEK RIGHT NOW,

UM, AND THEN WHAT WAS YOUR, WHAT WERE YOUR QUESTIONS? DO YOU REMEMBER? YEAH.

WE FINISHED THE SEASON WITH A 14 AND TWO DUAL MEET RECORD.
OUR ONLY LOSSES COMING TO NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS. UH, WE GOT TO COMPETE ON NATIONAL TELEVISION, UH, AT SKYLINE WITH THE FLOW WRESTLING NIGHT IN AMERICA SERIES.
UH, WE FINISHED TOP 25 AND THE ALLY RECOGNIZED BEAST OF THE EAST TOURNAMENT IN DELAWARE EARNING US A FULL TEAM INVITE FOR NEXT SEASON.
AND PAYDEN ALLEY A BECAME ONLY THE THIRD SKYLINE WRESTLER IN HISTORY TO PLACE AT THAT TOURNAMENT.
WE WON OUR SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE NORTHWESTERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP OVER BOTH CLASS THREE AND CLASS FOUR SCHOOLS.
CROWNING SEVEN CHAMPIONS INDIVIDUALLY, WE WON OUR SIXTH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE PAST SEVEN SEASONS.
WE WERE ALSO CROWN SEVEN CHAMPIONS AT THAT.
WE WERE ABLE TO DOMINATE THE STATE TOURNAMENT THIS SEASON TO WIN OUR SECOND CONSECUTIVE VHSL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WE HAD A TEAM RECORD FOR STATE CHAMPIONS THIS YEAR.
CAMERON KEY, DJ MABE AND CODY DAVIS ALL MADE THE BLOOD ROUND FINISHING ONE WIN AWAY FROM STATE PLACEMENT.
VINNY DEVELO FINISHED FOURTH IN HIS WEIGHT CLASS AND ISAIAH GRADY FINISHED THIRD AND HIS WEIGHT CLASS, PARKER WITHERS AND TITUS DRAKE FINISHED THE SEASON OF STATE RUNNER UPS.
DYLAN LEIC BECAME THE FIRST FRESHMAN STATE CHAMPION IN PROGRAM HISTORY.
PAID AN ALLEY, WON HIS SECOND STATE

CHAMPIONSHIP WITH THE TECH FALL VICTORY IN THE FINALS.JACOB B WON HIS FIRST STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A PITFALL VICTORY.
JAKE ALSO PINNED A TWO TIME STATE CHAMPION ALONG THE WAY TO EARN THAT CHAMPIONSHIP.
JOSIAH SYKES WILL GRADUATE AS A TWO TIME STATE CHAMPION AFTER PAYING HIS OPPONENT IN THE FINALS.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THAN THAT, THIS TEAM CARRIES A 3.8 GPA AVERAGE WITH NINE OF THEM AT 4.0 OR HIGHER.
ALL OF OUR GRADUATING SENIORS IN THE STARTING LINEUP WILL BE ATTENDING COLLEGES NEXT YEAR WITH MOST OF THEM WRESTLING.
THIS CONTINUES A 100% SUCCESS RATE OF GRADUATING SENIORS IN THE PROGRAM.
CONTINUING ON WITH HIGHER EDUCATION OVER THE PAST TWO SEASONS WITH 86% OF THOSE ALSO COMPETING AT THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL.

UM, SO WE'LL BE DOING THE RECONCILIATIONS AS IT RELATES TO THE FORECAST AND THEN ANY ENTRIES THAT ARE NEEDED AS A RESULT.
UM, BECAUSE WITH OUR EXPERIENCE FROM DOING THE 2024 RECONCILIATION, SOME OF THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE BANK BALANCES AND THE GENERAL LEDGER AND FROM A RECONCILIATION STANDPOINT DO RELATE SOME TRANSACTIONS THAT NEED TO BE RECORDED IN THE SYSTEM.

THE STAFF WORKED REALLY HARD THIS PAST WEEKEND.
UM, SO I LOOK FORWARD AS EVERYONE ELSE DOES TO THIS BUDGET BEING DONE, BUT I DON'T WANNA RUSH IT.
AND, UM, SO, YOU KNOW, AS ATTENDED THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS AND I THINK WE'RE GONNA HAVE ANOTHER ONE TOMORROW.
AND ON UM, MARCH 5TH WE HAD A TOURISM MEETING, UM, AGAIN WORKING TOGETHER AND, UM, WITH THE TOWN AND COOPERATION WITH THIS, THERE'S LOTS OF THINGS THAT WE HAVE PLANNED AND, UM, LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING ANOTHER PRESENTATION.
WE GET A LITTLE CLOSER TO THAT SO THAT WE CAN KEEP EVERYONE IN THE LOOP.
AND I DO WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT YOU'RE INVITED IN, UM, MS. MEADOWS, I DON'T WANNA GET THE DATE.

UM, THEY ARE HAVING, APRIL 18TH IS GONNA BE A BIG DAY.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO, THERE'S LOTS TO DO.
THE TOURISM, UM, THE TWO 50, WE'VE GOT THINGS GOING ON FOR THAT.
UH, BROWNTOWN IS HAVING THEIR, UM, RED BUD FESTIVAL AND I THINK THERE'S TWO OR THREE OTHER THINGS THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, BUT THERE'S LOTS GOING ON.
ON THE 12TH WE HAD A BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING AND WE DISCUSSED THE LEAKY ROOFS AND THE NEED FOR THE COURTHOUSE WHERE THE CLOCK IS, UM, TO BE REPAIRED AND A BROKEN PIPE IN THE COURTHOUSE.
WE'VE, WE'VE JUST GOT A, YOU KNOW, THAT'S A OLD HISTORICAL BUILDING AND IT NEEDS A LOT OF LOVE.
UM, SO IT'S CONSTANTLY BUILDING THINGS COMING UP THAT, UM, HIT THE BUDGET.
UM, ON THE 13TH I WENT TO SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL TO SEE THE LADY HAWKS OFF ON THEIR TRIP TO RICHMOND.
UM, THAT WAS REALLY COOL, UM, TO BE A PART OF THAT.
AND THEN I WENT TO DSS WHO HAD, IT WAS PIE DAY, SO THE WEED, DR. MARTIN AND I ATE A LOT OF PIE THAT DAY.
I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS WHEN I LEFT THERE, BUT I'M SURE MY METER WOULD'VE BEEN GOING OFF IF HAD I HAD IT ON, UM, 14TH.

WAS MY FIRST BASKETBALL GAME EVER.'CAUSE I'VE NEVER BEEN A BIG BASKETBALL FAN.
AFTER WATCHING THOSE LADIES UH, PLAY, I'M GONNA GO TO A LOT MORE GAMES 'CAUSE THEY DESERVE TO HAVE PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE.
AND THERE WERE JUST, UM, SOME PEOPLE ON THE OTHER TEAM THAT ALREADY HAVE COLLEGE CONTRACTS TO PLAY BASKETBALL SO THAT THEY HELD THEIR OWN REALLY WELL.
AND I WAS REALLY PROUD TO BE THERE.
UM, SUNDAY THE 15TH, I HAD DR.
PENCE AND I HAD THE SOUTH RIVER DISTRICT COMMUNITY MEETING AND I JUST WANTED TO THANK, UM, DR. MARTIN, DR. WRIGHT, JANE MEADOWS, YOU ALL CAME REACHING OUT NOW.
HAD A REPRESENTATIVE, CHIEF ASSISTANT CHIEF MATTA WAS FOR FIRE AND RESCUE.
THE ISAAC WALTON LEAVE, MIKE AND SHARON LONGMEYER WERE THERE.
UM, MATT FROM UM, WAS THERE FOR VOTER REGISTRAR, THE SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL, FFA HAD A BOOTH, WARREN COALITION, SAMUELS LIBRARY HEARTS AND DSS, THE PHOENIX PROJECT AND HEIGHT KIDS FOUNDATION.
SO I THINK WE HAD 30 SOMETHING PEOPLE COME, WHICH I WOULD'VE LIKED FOR IT TO HAVE BEEN MORE.
BUT THAT ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON, UH, I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A BAD TURNOUT.
AND, UM, I WAS JUST GRATEFUL THAT ALL THOSE COMMUNITY PARTNERS WERE THERE TO BE SEEN AND, UM, TO GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET OUT AND SHOW WHAT THEY DID.
THEY HAD A LOT OF THINGS TO, TO GIVE AWAY AND, UM, I THOUGHT IT WENT WELL.
PEOPLE WERE ASKING ME, WHEN ARE WE GONNA DO THE NEXT ONE? SO, UM, TRYING TO MAYBE DO ONE OF THOSE TWICE A YEAR AND I WILL TURN IT OVER TO DR. MARTIN.
SO, UM, JUST A REMINDER THAT THE BOARD WILL BE MEETING WITH THE SCHOOL BOARD TOMORROW NIGHT.

THIS COUNTY CONTINUES TO WEATHER MANY ECONOMIC STORMS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE EDA CRISIS STILL OVERSHADOWS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, EVEN THOUGH THE COUNTY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMAINING ECONOMIC DEBT.
INCOMPLETE AUDITS FROM FY 24 AND FY 25 CONTINUE TO MAKE PROGRESS AND WILL HOPEFULLY RESULT IN AN APPROVED FUND BALANCE FOR THE SCHOOL DIVISION AND THE COUNTY.
THE COMPLETION OF THESE AUDITS WILL ALSO YIELD FINANCIAL PROCESSES TO ENSURE INCOMPLETE AUDITS WILL BE LESS LIKELY IN THE FUTURE.
SO, LIKE A DEEPLY ROOTED TREE, OUR FINANCIAL FOUNDATION IS STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND UNCERTAINTY.
HOWEVER, JUST AS A TREE CAN ENDURE STORMS BUT WEAKENS UNDER CONSTANT STRAIN, RELYING TOO HEAVILY ON TAX INCREASES TO COVER ONGOING EXPENSES DEEPER, UH, THREATENS LONG-TERM STABILITY.
A TRULY BALANCED BUDGET REQUIRES DIFFICULT CHOICES, WHETHER THROUGH INCREASING REVENUE OR REDUCING COSTS.
THOUGHTFUL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ENSURES WE REMAIN RESILIENT USING RESERVES STRATEGICALLY WHILE SAFEGUARDING OUR COUNTY'S FUTURE.
SINCE BECOMING THE INTERIM COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR, I HAVE BEEN AMAZED BY THE DEDICATION OF OUR EMPLOYEES, THEIR PROFESSIONALISM, RESILIENCE, AND COMMITMENT TO THIS COMMUNITY.
PRAISE IS OFTEN QUIET AND CRITICISM IS LOUD, YET THEY CONTINUE TO SHOW UP BEHIND EVERY LATE NIGHT MEETING, EVERY URGENT EMAIL, EVERY PANICKED CALL FOR HELP AND EVERY FIGHT TO SECURE GRANT FUNDING, THERE'S A PERSON GIVING MORE THAN THEY TAKE.
AND BEHIND THAT PERSON, THERE'S OFTEN A FAMILY MAKING QUIET SACRIFICES AS WELL.
WARREN COUNTY EMPLOYEES DON'T DO THIS WORK BECAUSE IT IS EASY OR IT'S GLAMOROUS.
THEY DO IT BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN SERVICE, IN LEADERSHIP AND IN LEAVING THINGS BETTER THAN THEY FOUND THEM.
